Colin Charles Domanico was born August 31, 2006 with Pulmonary Atresia (PA), Ventricular Septal Defect (VSD), and Major Aortopulmonary Collateral Arteries (MAPCAs), also referred to as Tetralogy of Fallot with PA/MAPCAs. His congenital heart defect resulted in poor feeding and growth, hypertension, rapid heart rate, and congestive heart failure.
He endured 3 open heart surgeries, 7 cardiac catheterizations, and multiple other procedures for his heart condition. He spent approximately a year in the hospital at Strong Memorial in Rochester, NY; Golisano Children’s Hospital in Syracuse, NY; and Childrens in Boston, MA. Colin lost his fight to congenital heart disease on September 21, 2008 at 2 years old. His parents, Tim & Melanie, and 2 younger brothers, Drew & Aiden, cherish his memory. Colin was an avid fan of the NY Mets, Buffalo Bills, and The Wiggles.
Colin’s life touched and inspired the lives of many around the country that he never had the opportunity to meet and for that we are forever grateful. Courageous Hearts of CT is our small way of allowing Colin to continue his own fight helping other children with theirs.
